It's Halloween season!
I love all the funny memes that come out around this time. It is a very auspicious time of the year because it's when the veils between our two worlds are at their finest. An opportunity for us to connect with our ancestors and make peace with them.
I remember my Mum would light candles for the whole week, honouring her parents, grandparents, siblings and friends that have past over.
NUMEROLOGY
October is also a 10/1 energy in Numerology. It's the first time we have a double digit number (10) and it adds up to the number 1. The number 1 is all about the cycle beginning again. Here in the Southern Hemisphere, it is also Spring time, flowers and fruit trees are starting to bud everywhere. It is also a great time to do a spring clean and get rid of all the dead wood, making space for the new growth!

We will have two Eclipses this month. When an eclipse occurs, the energy is extremely amplified, especially if it aligns with your astrological chart, it's like pressing a huge accelerator pedal full throttle.
 On 2 October, Mercury will be opposing Neptune. This is strong intuition, spiritual vibrations and incredible creative energies all swirling around. Neptune is not a practical energy, therefore it is not the best time for serious analytical thinking, logic, or doing anything that has to do with accounting or practical matters.
This combination of planets is great for creating and writing poetry, watching movies, bringing aromatherapy into your home and feeling the energy. Also an excellent time to sing, dance, meditate, or engage in any other creative or spiritual practice or activity.
If you must make a decision, use your intuition or speak directly with spirit rather than utilising your logic, analytical mind, facts and data. Maybe turn over a Tarot card!
Be mindful that while Mercury and Neptune are opposing each other, we may have the trickster aspect playing out here. We have a chance to comprehend or see how propaganda and spin are used, whether it be in the media, by politicians, or on social media.
 On 5 October, Mercury enters Libra, and on the same day Mars conjuncts the Sth Node. In the first couple of weeks of October, we get the chance to comprehend how greatly we are affected by those everyday messages.
For some people, Mars' conjunction with the South Node will be highly revealing for them. Libra always connects us to social energy, everybody wants to feel connected to a group, like they are part of a tribe. Human nature dictates that if we are a part of a group, we will identify with them and naturally accept what they tell us. But don't take everything you read at face value.
Mars conjunct the Sth Node allows us to uncover some truth for ourselves. We must be able to make clear judgements and not necessarily believe all that we are being told. Check and double check the messages until you are satisfied.
It will be crucial to critically examine everything throughout this month of October, become aware of our own mindset so that when Mercury enters Libra, we can be clear with justice, fairness, and clear thinking to make our own judgement and decisions.
 On the 8 October, Mercury enters Libra, then squares Pluto, same day as Venus enters Virgo, opposing Saturn. Phew that is a mouthful!
First off, be cautious of the background energy here as individuals may be cranky, easily irritated, argumentative, aggressive and assertive around this time. We see this happening all the time in social media.
When Mars squares Pluto, it is a far more positive way to channel this energy by going to the gym and doing a work out, going for a walk or run, use the energy in a constructive way, this is connecting you with your personal power and inner strength.
 Venus opposition to Saturn may result in discernment, which is lovely energy, but it may also make you feel heavy and responsible. Be mindful that on the 8th of the month, it will be intense and if you post on social media, keep in mind that people always like to argue and you may be challenged. Be kind!
It is best to turn this energy into self-care and maintaining good health, create a new regime, book in for a massage or go get your hair done. Otherwise you will become frustrated and be really hard on yourself.
 On 10 October, Pluto ends its Retrograde cycle. Pluto has been circling this same degree for some time. It's a Pluto Return right now. The United States was founded at this exact same 27 degree angle.
Pluto is about transformation. Our very foundations are being shaken and stirred, asking us to purge and transform. So ask yourself, what must be released? Where must I expand and grow? We are all going through a significant powerful internal transitional time right now. Embrace it!
 On the 12 October, Mars enters the sign of Scorpio. Mars completes its transit through Libra and enters Scorpio. Mars is in a deliciously beautiful place because it feels right at home in Scorpio. It is really effective and uses energy sensibly with determination and commitment.
Mars in Scorpio energy can move mountains! So tap into this wonderful powerful energy within yourself. It will last throughout the whole of October and much of November. You can accomplish a great deal of work with vigour.
Pluto always gets a bad rap. Pluto doesn't bring suffering or causes things to end. Instead, it helps us to identify and let go of what is no longer beneficial or working for us. It assists us to discover where we are stuck, what causes these harmful patterns and to let them go!
 On 14 October, we have a Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Libra. Libra's constant theme is justice and equality for everybody. No mistakes we have the Yes Referendum on this same day in Australia!
There may be several instances of unfairness, deceit, abuse or cruelty happening in the world today and deep down we all want divine justice to win. There will be a high need like a wave pattern sweeping across the world waking us up to a new consciousness.
We have a strong desire to create balance in our own lives right now, and to feel that on some level we have had a say in it, to bring about this divine justice for all.
 On 28 October, we have a Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus. Very powerful Full Moon because it is in the fixed sign of Taurus and we also have an Eclipse.
We want to see our commitment and focus used in making changes in our life that will result in new habits. This is the ideal approach for you to channel the power of this Full Moon.
This energy is not about having fantastic ideals or thinking about things, its about actualising it, bringing it onto the earthy plane, materialising it and living it.
In the background, we have Mars in Scorpio conjunct Mercury opposite Jupiter. This configuration speaks of instant karma. Jupiter is going to bring up from the depths of Scorpio whatever needs to be dealt with.
When you act in accordance with your integrity and your belief system, the universe is actively trying to give you positive feedback. Likewise, it will also let you know when you aren't acting in a way that is consistent with your higher self.

Every month, I turn over 2 cards, one from the top of the deck to represent the Conscious energy and the other from the bottom of the deck to represent the Unconscious energy. I am always thinking of the big picture and exploring for the collective.
These two Tarot cards are loaded on my Tarot Mastery private Facebook group for students of Tarot in Action to explore the meanings and share their insights.
I asked the Tarot cards: What is the energy for the month of October 2023?
What do we need to be mindful of for this entire month?
I turned over The Devil in the Conscious position and 2 of Swords, in the Unconscious position.
  Well I don't ever remember The Devil ever showing up before so this is exciting. Basically, something is about to reveal itself.
The 2 of Swords is interesting as a follow on card, because this card suggests they don't want to see what is being revealed.
On the other hand, The Devil is asking us to face our shadow side and the 2 of Swords is looking internally to work on the self.
Many of us don't like it when The Devil shows up, he can be a very confronting figure, we tend to always look outside of ourselves. Sometimes we maybe in a particular situation that needs urgent attention or we are faced with someone trying to control us in some way.
And this is what I really like about The Devil. Here is the opportunity to stand in our power, confront what mess we created and transform ourselves and become more in control.
The 2 of Swords also has to do with reflecting inwardly. Contemplating and searching within, taking your time before coming out and making the right decision for yourself.
Summary...
In The Devil card, the chains around the lovers necks are loose, indicating you already know what you have to do to get yourself out of this predicament that you put yourself in. As the saying goes, "Face the fear and do it anyway."
Looks like October will be a month of deep reviewing and rethinking things. The Devil is asking us to clean up our mess and the 2 of Swords is asking us to take a real good look at ourselves.
