My familiars...

August every year is a huge month for acknowledging our favourite animals. We start the month with Happy Birthday to Horse's Day, then we have Cats Day as well as Black Cat Appreciation Day, Dogs Day, Elephants Day, Lions Day, plus the whole month is Paws Fur the Planet Challenge re improving the paw-print on the environment. Therefore every year in August, I love to acknowledge with a picture my two familiars, Carlos and Zachary.

Also in August, we run the Singapore Masterclasses - There is the Tarot, Numerology and Advanced Tarot classes, as well as the Astrology classes. All held on weekends over September and October.

This year the classes will be via Zoom once again as I just cannot leave the responsibility of Carlos onto someone else. He is 16 years and 5 months now, he is getting older and now is the time I really need to be there for him. Next year, I may be able to start travelling again and I look forward to visiting Singapore once more and catch up with all my friends over there.

1. Astrological Forecast for the Month

August Forecast

We have moved into the Leo season. Leo is one of my favourite zodiac signs, it is known for its vibrant energy and leadership qualities. The energy of Leo is often described as bold, enthusiastic and charismatic.

People born under this sign are known for their confidence, generosity, and warm-hearted nature. They tend to be natural leaders, full of creativity and passion. This is what Leo can teach us, how to come from the heart with confidence.

New Moon in Leo

On 4 August, we have a New Moon in Leo.  Because Leo is an extroverted sign with dramatic energy, the New Moon in Leo will always be focused on the idea of our own personal authority, confidence, the ability to shine and radiate our own sense of self to the world.

To add further energy to this Leo New Moon, we have Uranus in Taurus square Venus in Leo working in the background. This is a highly potent moment. Uranus is excellent at circulating and agitating, a disruptor of stagnation. There is a lot of unpredictable energy swirling all around us.

To top it all off we will have Mars and Jupiter conjuct in Gemini and Mercury will also square the New Moon. All this agitation is bringing in high-voltage and high communication energy. We could be hearing radical changes, misinformation and heated discussions.

Mercury goes Retrograde

On 5 August until 28 August, Mercury will turn retrograde in Virgo and end right back in Leo. Mercury retrogrades in the sign of Virgo the very next day after the New Moon in Leo.

Mercury is a fantastic energy for productivity, problem solving, and planning our thoughts so we can later evaluate and review them, bringing forth the clarity and answers we seek. All Mercury retrogrades are powerful and I believe are positive experiences.

Mercury, the planet of the mind, communication and the intellect is currently in the sign of Virgo. Virgo is ruled by Mercury. it will retrograde back into the sign of Leo. Leo is about coming from your heart, being generous and acting with confidence.

Here is your chance to examine how you are acting in relation to your humility skills in Virgo and your leadership skills in Leo. What does being of service and acting with humility look like to you? And how do you balance that with leadership? How do you merge these two together?

Mid August

In the middle of August, we have Mars conjunct Jupiter in Gemini square Saturn in Pisces. Right in the middle of Mercury's retrograde phase, we will have Mars-Jupiter conjunction square Saturn, this will intensify the energy and make it even louder.

Throughout the entire month of August, Mars and Jupiter in Gemini will bring forth an explosion of information energy. Remember Jupiter is the planet of growth and expansion and Mars is the planet of active masculine conscious energy, Mars has a lot of gusto! And Gemini is all about the mind, the intellect and rules communication.

Our nervous system is being bombarded with a barrage of frantic energy and with Saturn in Pisces, the planet of keeping things real, grounded and practical, adds another level of uncertainty regarding what information is true or false. What's the actual story that is going on here? What is real? What is the truth?

Time to take control of your energy field, pay attention to staying focused, and engage in regular psychic cleansing or meditation. Your energy field filters in frequencies from the outside world. Make your energy field powerful by consolidating it and walk with authority and integrity, so that when all of that information—or misinformation—is thrown at you, you won't get pushed around.

Full Moon in Aquarius

On 19 August, we have a Full Moon in Aquarius at 27 degrees. This Aquarian Full Moon is conjunct the Sun and Mercury in Leo and square Uranus in Taurus. Note that Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. This is a high-voltage, highly electrifying energy, there is a need to break through stagnation and what is not working and to open us up to having a new adventure.

Globally, to ensure that everyone learns something new, the energy of Uranus, Aquarius, and Leo is being ignited and blasted out into the public sphere. Here are some opportunities for all of us to learn.

Personally, we have the opportunity to release some old stagnate ways that were holding us back and be open to new ways coming through, which in turn will place us in an even far better situation. Also to question things that we are doing; is it what I really want to do? or am I being sucked into it because everyone else is doing it? Remember we are bombarded with information on so many levels.

1  Horses Birthday. All thoroughbreds have the same birthday so that their ages can be standardised for comparison because of the historical lack of records of actual birth days. Their birthdays are January 1st in the northern hemisphere and August 1st in the southern hemisphere.
2  Jeans for Genes Day. A national day when people wear their jeans to raise much needed funds for research into birth defects and disease such as cancer, epilepsy, and a range of genetic disorders.
4  New Moon in Leo. A warm and friendly mood. Good time to get together with friends.
8  International Cat Day. First created by Colleen Paige, a strong animal welfare advocate, to bring attention to the plights of the domestic cat.
8  Moon Bear Day.
9  International Day for World Indigenous People. This date marks the day of the first meeting, in 1982, of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations of the Sub-commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights.
9  Red Nose Day. Every year on the second Friday in August, we invite Australian's everywhere to get silly for a serious cause to raise much needed funds to help stop little lives being cut short and support grieving families.
10  World Lion Day.
12  International Youth Day. A policy framework and guidelines for national action and international support to improve the situation of young people.
12  International Elephant Day. Bringing the world together to help elephants. Working towards a world that protects elephants, wildlife and their habitat.
10 - 18  National Science Week. Annual celebration of science and technology featuring 1000s of events organised around the country.
14  World Lizard Day.
15  International Homeless Animals Day. Every day, animals are abandoned or placed into kennels, dependent on charities and goodwill. Do something for your local animal shelter whether it be donate some goods, money or help.
15  World Cotton-top Tamarin Day.
17  Black Cat Appreciation Day. Did you know black cats are the least likely to be adopted and more often put to sleep.
19  World Humanitarian Day. Honours those who have lost their lives in humanitarian service and those, who continue to bring assistance and relief to millions.
19  World Orangutan Day.  To recognise the most iconic victim of the palm oil industry.
19  Full Moon ion Aquarius. Great time to do some work for the community and meet like-minded people.
21  World Senior Citizen Day.
22  National Honey Bee Day.
22 - 28 Keep Australia Beautiful Week. Was developed to remind people about the simple things they can do in their daily lives to reduce the impact on the environment and encourage action.
25 - 29  World Water Week. Together we can develop solutions to address climate change and other water related challenges.

26  International Dog Day. No one can win hearts like man's best friend and we honour this bond between man and canine.

2. Tarot Cards Insight into the Energy of the Month...

Every month, I turn over 2 cards, one from the top of the deck to represent the Conscious energy and the other from the bottom of the deck to represent the Unconscious energy. I am always thinking of the big picture and exploring for the collective.

These two Tarot cards are loaded on my Tarot Mastery private Facebook group for students of Tarot in Action to explore the meanings and share their insights.

~ I asked the Tarot cards what is the energy for the whole month of August 2024?
~ What do we need to be mindful of, so we can make the most out of it?

The 6 of Pentacles is in the Conscious position, and 5 of Swords is in the Unconscious position.


Summary...
We are not out of the woods as yet. The 6 of Pentacles is about balancing things, yet the 5 of Swords suggests there are still some mental demons hanging around for us to deal with.

We have moved into Leo season, but Mars and Uranus are still clashing and throw Jupiter into the mix exagerates it all the more.

6 of Pentacles
The number 6 is a lovely number, I like to think of it as the peacemaker number. The universe also knows how to unconsciously balance things.

You can see the person in the middle holding scales in his left hand. The left side is the feminine intuitive and instinctual side. This suggests that whatever he is doing he knows how to keep things balanced naturally. In his right hand, the masculine active side, it seems he is handing coins to the beggar in yellow.

The man in the middle does look wealthy, maybe he is a lawyer, afterall the scales also connect us back to the Justice major arcana. People in high positions such as lawyers, also do probono work, they often give back to the community.

This card suggests that there needs to be a balance between giving and receiving. No matter what career or job you do, there are times when we charge and there are times when you step up and help the people in need.

5 of Swords
The number 5 is about change and shifting something, an upgrade, a freedom as well as the number of travel.

The figure in the middle of this card is holding 3 swords, you only need one sword to hurt someone, yet he is not using the swords. Maybe he is burndened with too many decisions, and whichever way he goes, it will hurt or affect those around him. I see this person as the persecutor.

The clouds don't look soft and fluffy, they look harsh and shark-like. We are looking at stormy weather. There is a person near the water with his head in his hands, maybe crying. He looks most affect in this situation. This one is the victim.

The person walking towards the figure near the water is wearing white boots, he is the neutral one in this situation, he looks like the rescuer.

We have all been in all three of these positions, they are all tricky to manoeuvre through. That is the energy we have to work through for this month. Take your time, be mindful of your position and of those around you, this will assist you making the right decision.

I always carry a fine selection of essential oils in my shop for sale to those that need them. Also happy to a run a doTerra workshop for you and your friends.

Workshops are a great opportunity to get together, to experience and learn something new about doTerra. How to use essential oils in your everyday life, ask questions and share this new alternative knowledge with others.

LUNABEARS LADS & LADYS - ANNUAL PICNIC
 

The date was set for the 2023 Annual LunaBears picnic. Thank you to Mastersons Bar for holding a fabulous space for our picnic. A much heartfelt thank you to all that attended and thank you to everyone that contributed.

               We raised $690 in October 2023

The funds raised go directly to the Bear Sanctuary in Luang Prabang, Laos, through the Free The Bears org with the resolve to end Bear bile farming forever!
