Happy Hallows to everyone!

What a fun month October brings for us every year. I always like to share many Halloween memes in my Tarot in Action Facebook Group mixed with Tarot, of course.

The meaning of Halloween is for us to reconnect with our ancestors. It's a time, as they say, when the veils between our two worlds are at their finest, therefore its easier to link with our loved ones, to heal with our loved ones, to let go of some of those skeletons lurking around in those closests, or deep in our nooks and crannies, so we can free ourselves from what is holding us down, to feel lighter and rejoice in the freedom.

October is also the 10th month of the year, in Numerology it's a 10/1 number. A time of new beginnings on the next round. I always see October as a snippet of what energy the new year will bring us. October for us in the Southern Hemisphere is also Spring and we tend to do a lot of spring cleaning during this time. A time of renewal on so many levels, even the flowers are starting to bud again, how glorious! 

Also, want to bring your attention to the Annual LunBears Lads and Ladys picnic that happens every October. A group of concerned individuals coming together to bring awareness and of course raise funds to end bear bile farming forever. 1. Astrological Forecast for the Month

October Forecast

We are in Libra season. Libra season runs from 22 September to 22 October. It is an air sign and a cardinal modality, therefore the back drop for this month is all about balance, emphasising harmony and peace in all areas of our life.

Air signs also rule the mind, our thoughts and intellect. They are drawn to fairness and diplomacy, striving to create equitable connections and peaceful environments.

Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty. Venus loves to be beautiful as well as an appreciation for aesthetics, making them drawn to art and social gatherings like social butterflies. They can find beauty through the interactions with others. Enhancing our relationships by bringing fairness into our relationships, and then fostering new connections.

Solar Eclipse New Moon in Libra

On 3 October we have New Moon in Libra and its also a Solar Eclipse. Not only is it a New Moon in Libra, and Solar Eclipse, it also has the Sun, Moon and Mercury all conjunct in Libra.

A New Moon in Libra combined with a Solar Eclipse is already potent for new beginnings and transformative energy, particularly around relationships, balance, and justice. But with the Sun, Moon, and Mercury all conjunct in Libra, the energy becomes even more intense.

With all three of these planets in Libra, this alignment emphasises intellectual clarity and emotional understanding, particularly in relationships. Communication will be key and there may be strong urges to resolve conflicts, express feelings and seek justice. It's a period where balance between the mind (Mercury), heart (Moon), and self (Sun) is critical and conversations around fairness, partnerships, and diplomacy could take centre stage.

 Mars Still Activating Through Cancer

As well as the New Moon, Sun and Mercury in Libra, they are all square to Mars in Cancer. Mars entered Cancer last month and in November it will enter Leo and then in December it will go Retrograde back into Cancer, this whole process will complete by May 2025.

Mars in Cancer brings a unique and powerful blend of emotional depth and nurturing energy. Mars, typically known for its fiery, assertive, and action-oriented qualities, takes on a more sensitive and protective tone when it moves into Cancer, a sign deeply connected with emotions, family, and home.

When Mars in Cancer squares the Sun, New Moon, and Mercury in Libra (an air sign), it creates an interesting contrast between emotional, protective energies and more logical, objective, and harmony-seeking forces.

This aspect asks us to find a middle ground between emotional responses and logical reflection. The tension from Mars in Cancer squaring the Sun, New Moon, and Mercury in Libra creates an opportunity to blend emotional sensitivity with intellectual fairness, leading to more balanced relationships and better communication. The challenge is to respect both emotional needs and the desire for harmony and compromise, ultimately leading to growth in how we handle conflict and find balance in our lives.

Jupiter Retrogrades in Gemini

On 9 October Jupiter will retrograde in Gemini and will go direct on 4 February 2025. When Jupiter is in Gemini, it amplifies the importance of our thinking patterns, communication, and mental agility.

Gemini is an air sign ruled by Mercury, associated with intellect, curiosity, and the exchange of ideas. With expansive and optimistic Jupiter here, the focus on mental growth, learning, and awareness is heightened.

Jupiter in Gemini highlights the importance of being aware of our thoughts, attitude and our nervous system, while also expanding our intellectual and social horizons. This transit encourages curiosity, open-mindedness and optimism, but also reminds us to balance mental activity with mindfulness to avoid overstimulation. It's a time for growth through communication, learning and adopting a positive, flexible mindset in all aspects of life.

Pluto Direct in Capricorn

On 12 October Pluto turns direct in Capricorn. Pluto goes direct in Capricorn and by mid November, Pluto will end its reign in Capricorn and finally move into the sign of Aquarius.

When Pluto turns direct, it is indeed a significant cosmic shift! Pluto is the planet of transformation, power and the deep unconscious. While retrograde, Pluto often works internally, stirring up buried issues related to control, power dynamics and personal transformation. Once Pluto stations direct, this energy is unleashed outwardly, often leading to intense shifts in power structures, both personally and collectively.

When Pluto turns direct, it unleashes a powerful flow of transformative energy. This shift brings profound adjustments in power and hierarchy, both in our personal lives and on a collective level. It’s a time for facing deep-rooted issues around control, authority, and power, leading to regeneration and growth. Whether in relationships, work, or society, Pluto’s direct motion pushes us to confront what’s been buried, allowing for powerful shifts that bring about necessary transformation and empowerment.

It’s a moment to embrace change and transformation, knowing that Pluto’s energy, though intense, ultimately aims to clear out the old and make way for deep, lasting growth.

Full Moon in Aries

On 18 October we have a Full Moon in Aries. Not only is the Sun in Libra opposite the Full Moon in Aries, square Mars in Cancer, and then Mars in Cancer is opposite Pluto in Capricorn. Which makes Mars square the Sun, square Pluto, square Full Moon, square Mars. This is called a Grand Square in the cardinal modality.

A Grand Square (or Grand Cross) in the Cardinal modality, is one of the most intense and dynamic aspects in astrology! This configuration involves four planets that form 90-degree square aspects to each other, creating a large square shape in the chart. It’s called "Grand" because it involves four or more celestial bodies forming squares and oppositions, which generates a lot of tension, pressure, and energy.

When Pluto is involved, the energy becomes incredibly dynamic, volatile, and highly charged. Pluto represents the forces of deep transformation, death and rebirth and the profound shifts that occur beneath the surface. Its energy is intense, often forcing major changes that are beyond our control, which can feel both powerful and destabilising.

Though Pluto's influence is often uncomfortable, it's important to remember that its ultimate goal is transformation and empowerment. By facing the volatility head-on, we are given the opportunity to let go of what no longer serves us and step into a more authentic and powerful version of ourselves. The intensity of Pluto’s energy often leads to breakthroughs, deep healing, and the potential for profound personal and collective growth.

2. Tarot Cards Insight into the Energy of the Month...

Every month, I turn over 2 cards, one from the top of the deck to represent the Conscious energy and the other from the bottom of the deck to represent the Unconscious energy. I am always thinking of the big picture and exploring for the collective.

These two Tarot cards are loaded on my Tarot Mastery private Facebook group for students of Tarot in Action to explore the meanings and share their insights.

~ I asked the Tarot cards what is the energy for the whole month of October 2024?
~ What do we need to be mindful of, so we can make the most out of it?

The Magician is in the Conscious position, and 3 of Swords is in the Unconscious position.


Summary...
The first thing that comes to mind when I see these 2 cards together is that they both connect with the Air element.

The Magician is ruled my Mercury, the planet that rules the mind, our intellect, thoughts and ideas. The 3 of Swords also connects us with all those mental conflict issues.

This month is filled with either making decisions or having discussions in whatever postion you find yourself in. Whether its your studies are coming to an end and you need to decide if you want to continue, or discussions need to be had around relationships. Whichever way you decide to go, do some research first to avoid any heartache.

The Magician
The Magician is the first character The Fool meets on his journey through life. The key to the Magician is "As above, so below, as within, so without." He is a powerful manifestor he can also be the trickster.

The powerful colour red robe he wears suggests he is passionate about what he thinks and creates. The white undergarments gives us a clue in that whatever he is focusing on is coming from a clear conscience and pure intentions.

Therefore, whenever you are in this powerful confident position, you will manifest your dreams because you are connected with the source, you can coming from your true self.

3 of Swords
In this picture, we have the red heart right in the centre of the card, just like how our hearts are in the middle of our body system. The heart connects us with our loves and what we are passionate about.

The 3 Swords going through the heart tells so many stories. It could reflect 3 issues that have hurts us, maybe 3 people repeating the same story, or one person hurting us 3 times. Whichever one it is, these swords have been in the heart a long time because the tips of the swords are blunt and discoloured.

The number 3 is about growth and the potential expansion, which seems so contradictory to the all that mental stress symbolised by the swords. But thats the point. There is growth happening here through some pain. That's how we learn and grow.

I always carry a fine selection of essential oils in my shop for sale to those that need them. Also happy to a run a doTerra workshop for you and your friends.

Workshops are a great opportunity to get together, to experience and learn something new about doTerra. How to use essential oils in your everyday life, ask questions and share this new alternative knowledge with others.

LUNABEARS LADS & LADYS - ANNUAL PICNIC
 

The date was set for the 2023 Annual LunaBears picnic. Thank you to Mastersons Bar for holding a fabulous space for our picnic. A much heartfelt thank you to all that attended and thank you to everyone that contributed, it means a lot to our furry friends!

               We raised $690 in October 2023

For 2024 LunaBears Picnic we are changing things up a bit, our picnic will be at Mastersons Bar again but on the Saturday afternoon, as the Bar is not open on Sundays.

The funds raised go directly to the Bear Sanctuary in Luang Prabang, Laos, through the Free The Bears org with the resolve to end Bear bile farming forever!
